The Golden Ratio in the Bible

Cosmologists figure that In The Beginning, the universe boot-strapped itself into existence, out of the void... absolutely nothing. That's impossible... No, if you do the math, you find out that the sum total of matter in the universe will cancel the sum total of negative gravitational energy in the universe, yielding a universe with zero net matter/energy. When pressed, even the most pragmatic scientist will say; Yes it's a miracle, but it WORKS.

This is an easy equation. Just remember a number line with zero in the center, and negative magnitude moves to the left, and positive magnitude to moves the right. Negative gravitational energy, on one side equals positive matter energy on the other side.

To establish the conditions necessary for life, God Made a Difference:
Positive and Negative,
Good and Evil,
Gravity and Matter,
Growth and Decay.
And Just like that, Presto! You are enlightened.

"For in him we live, and move, and have our being;
as certain also of your own poets have said,
For we are also his offspring."
(Acts 17:28)

 Self consistent, self sufficient growth from within is the only way the conservation laws of physics, God's Laws, can be satisfied. In a creation event matter/energy and particle/antiparticle pairs (1+1) only exist because of (1+1=2) an entanglement relationship. The total system, all that exists, (1+2=3) is fully bounded by the void.  There is nothing outside this system, no space, no time. Things in the universe exist only because of relationship.

A photograph of  the creation of  two particles of matter.  The particles are necessarily entangled.

You may notice the numbers above (0,1,1,2,3) are the start of the Fibonacci sequence. The sequence is formed starting with nothing (0), adding 1, and continues to grow by adding the two preceding numbers:

0+1=1
1+1=2
1+2=3

0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21...

The fabric of reality starts with the Fibonacci Sequence and becomes a recurring pattern in nature.  We find it in the structure of our hearts, hands and stature.

The Fibonacci Sequence is found in flowers and trees,  in  music and the elements that make up the whole universe.
The golden ratio is the rate at which things grow from within.

The reason we see this pattern everywhere is that it models natural growth from within. Life is continually making room for diversity... naturally. The rate of growth from within is called the Golden Ratio and you often find it in things that are seen as “Beautiful”.

The Fibonacci Sequence In The Bible

The Fibonacci Sequence is so beautiful, maybe it can be found in the spiritual aspects of our life. I think it does! Consider the Nicene creed where we affirm:

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

0- In the beginning the world was formless and empty.

1- The Father;

Yet we know there is something rather than nothing. This is the miracle of being. It is the only proof of God we should need. And what should we call you god?  “I am!” Behold the soul and the ground of being!

1- The Son;

Mankind is created in Gods image. You can say I am!  And so, the kingdom of God is within us all. We fall when we ignore the miracle of being. Contemplate this and you will touch your Soul.

2- The Holy Spirit;

Denotes relationship, the creative love between the Father and the Son. Creative potential: I am, now what? What to do? The first thing God Said to us is “Subdue the world.”  We do this by gaining understanding and so, creative powers. That effort is the Holy Spirit. That effort is Christian Transhumanism. God speaks through the creation, through intuition and through our brothers and sisters. The Holy Spirit leads us and converges on perfect love. Jesus came to us 2000 years ago to teach us that the Holy Spirit leads us to the Kingdom of God.

One of the most fundamental constants in physics is Planck's constant of action. It defines the quantum of (energy x time): Energy expressed in a moment, an expression impresses. The whole world is built upon this quantum of action.  Action = Holy Spirit

You move in the Holy Spirit, the ultimate growth from within! Because of you, we know the universe harbors life and consciousness. It can be said that because of you, the universe becomes aware of itself.  And, through all of us, the universe discovers its own improbably fine-tuned physical constants necessary to come alive. Scientists and philosophers call this discovery the strong anthropic principle. As explained by John D. Barrow and Frank Tipler, it states that we see fundamental constants that happen to fall within the narrow range thought to be compatible with life because the universe is in some sense compelled to eventually have conscious and sapient life emerge within it.

Understand your potential. Given our current understanding of cosmology, it becomes very tempting to ask whether it's possible to create a universe in the laboratory by man-made processes. (Big Bang in a Little Room) This makes it likely that you and I participators in a self-creating universe.

The essential growth of the universe, or "big history" of the universe also indicates it is self creating. Examples of the Self Creation Idea

So, you don't feel like a co-creator of heaven and earth? Jesus says you are: "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."  Revelations 3:21

GOD MAKES ROOM FOR MORE

Christ had to remind the fundamentalists of his time: ‘Is it not written in your law, “I said, ‘You are gods’”? If He called them gods,  do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, “You are blaspheming,” because I said, “I am the Son of God"?” (John 10:34-36). "The Kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:21). Christ died so that you would receive this Gospel. What a shame to actively ignore it! What a sin to deny it! In so doing, you deflate the Holy Spirit; "And so, I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."

3- The Kingdom of God

Revealing the Trinity Cosmology: "What shall we liken the Kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it." Matthew 13:31-32

The Fibonacci pattern is found in the grouping of seeds in the sunflower. The Fibonacci pattern is just making room for more in the most efficient way.

MAKE ROOM FOR MORE
is the fundamental algorithm for life...That's nice.

The sun kisses the face of the spiral.
 Leaning upward into the warmth, the sunflower traces its mentor’s pattern across the sky as its own face reflects the mysteries of nature written in deep dark crevasses of familiar pattern.
 My heart beats the rhythm of the ages: 0112, 0112, 0112
I am connected, I am apart, I am.

Examples of the Self Creation Idea

A Very interesting footnote: It is 1920 and the catholic priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin anticipates the a Big Bang model for the origin and evolution of the universe. He also predicts:
The Internet
Transhumans
Posthumans
Super-intelligence
A Self-Created Universe

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin: “Everything is the sum of the past and that nothing is comprehensible except through its history. "Nature" is the equivalent of "becoming," self-creation: this is the view to which experience irresistibly leads us. What can it mean except that the Universe must, at least at some stage, have been in movement; that it has been malleable, acquiring by degrees, not only in their accidental details but in their very essence, the perfections which now adorn it? There is nothing, not even the human soul, the highest spiritual manifestation we know of, that does not come within this universal law. The soul, too, has its clearly defined place in the slow ascent of living creatures toward consciousness, and must therefore in one way or another have grown out of the general mobility of things. Those who look reality in the face cannot fail to perceive this progressive genesis of the Universe, and with a clarity which leaves no room for doubt. Whatever the other side may say, clinging to their imaginary world, the Cosmos did once move, the whole of it, not only locally but in its very being. This is undeniable, and we shall not discuss it further. But is it still moving? Here we have the real question, the living, burning question of Evolution.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin “The Future of Man”

  1. It is amazing that the Fibonacci sequence is found in both physical nature (galaxies, hurricanes) and in a wide range of life from plants to mollusks to insects to humans. I appreciate how Mr. Ledford explains this shared trait as a tangible expression of the creator's own essence and gift to mankind.
